Primitive American Flag Chicken Wool Hooked Rug - Yankee Doodle

This was such a fun rug to hook!!!

Yankee Doodle was hooked on linen with all hand dyed wool I dyed myself.

This rug measures in at 28 1/2" x 34" and would look wonderful hanging on the wall as a piece of folk art, or on the floor of a farmhouse.

Lots of muted, drab colored antique black wool was used for the background, grainy mustards for the chicken and some of the stars and my favorite old reds and blues were used for the flag and stars. I absolutely LOVE the way this rug turned out.

Keeping in the primitive style, the edges of the rug have been serged twice, and simply folded under and stitched into place.
