Primitive American Folk Art Wool Hooked Rug ~ Chicken Stroll ~

This Chicken Stroll rug measures 52 1/2" x 22 1/2".

This rug was hooked on rug hooking linen using hand dyed wools I dyed myself in my home studio. My wool strips are cut by hand, one at a time for a primitive, old fashioned look and feel.

Spring greens for the grass, my favorite antique and brown blacks were used for the background and so, so many muted mustards, pumpkins, bules and dirty creams for the chickens.

I LOVE how this rug turned out!! It was so much fun to hook!

The edges have been serged and simply folded over and stitched into place for a nice old fashioned look.
