Primitive Folk Art Whale Hooked Wool Rug ~ Sailor's Delight

This Sailor's Delight rug measures 67 1/2" x 37 1/2". I designed and hooked this rug using all hand dyed wool.

I used antique black hand dyed wool for the whales, Dutch blues for the sea and a wonderful mix of perfect pinks for the sky.

The ships sails and the boathouse were hooked with my favorite clam shell color. For the pier I used perfect brown.

This sailor's delight rug was so much fun to hook. The backing is super soft linen. All wools were hand dyed by myself in my New England home studio.

A very unique and primitive piece of folk art that you can display year round.
