Meet Henny and Penny!

I just LOVE the way this rug turned out!!!

This one of a kind and extremely primitive rug is my own design and was hooked on linen with all hand dyed wool I dyed myself in my New England home studio.

This rug measures in at around 44 1/2 x 21 3/4" and would look wonderful hanging on the wall as a piece of folk art, or on the floor of a farmhouse or a cottage. Over 30 different shades of muted browns and tans were used for the background, faded antique blacks for the hens, and some beautiful shades of cadet and navy blues were used for the hearts and scallop border at the top of the rug. The grassy patch at the bottom of the rug was hooked with over 20 shades of green.

This rug totally has a one of a kind, primitive feel and I absolutely LOVE the way this piece turned out.

Keeping in the primitive style, the edges of the rug have been serged twice, and simply folded under and stitched into place.

This rug, it's a keeper and was an absolute joy to hook.
